Emergencies are situations that constitute a serious threat to the life, safety, or health of residents or staff, or the situation will cause serious damage to the property structure or systems if not repaired within twenty-four (24) hours.

Below is a list of the only emergency call that should be made to the Housing Authority Staff after hours and on weekends.

Types of Emergency Work Orders:

  • Gas Leak
  • Water Leaks
  • Exposed Electrical Hazard
  • Loss of Power
  • Flooding
  • Fires
  • Death
  • No heat if less than 40 degrees
  • Broken Door Locks
  • Falling Ceiling Debris

Please make sure if there is an emergency in your apartment after hours that, you or your household member living in your apartment call for the emergency. All non-emergency calls will need to wait until the next working day.

Emergency - Immediate response is required; the emergency must be abated as soon as possible. The maximum allowable time for abatement is 24 hours. Abatement of an emergency does not mean that repairs must be complete; it means that the cause of the emergency must be removed. Example: If there is a gas leak, turning off the gas service abates the emergency.
